The maritime and logistic sector has become a major part of my photography. It was not planned beforehand but living in the Faroe Islands and Gothenburg, Sweden (with a few years in Aberdeen in between) and working with business and media clients has made it possible. In fact, I feel quite at home when I see ships and maritime environments; and the view from our Gothenburg office (on the 12th floor) reinforces that feeling.
Last year was a year full of meetings with interesting people. For example, I took portraits of Mats Boll, Volvo Transport Policy Director, on a rather dangerous location at the Scandia Harbor in Gothenburg, with trucks driving by very close.
The Faroese company Skansi Offshore just moved into their new premises and CEO Jens Meinhard Rasmussen proudly showed me around before I unpacked my equipment and started to take photos of staff as well as owners Tummas and Osmund Justinussen. The challenge here was to reflect a warm atmosphere and get the staff’s attention despite the new, rather large desks and towering drawers occupying dominant positions. The view from the office was absolutely stunning with ships passing by during the photo session (upper right and featured image ).
Shooting sessions like these are a pleasure to look back on. I always bear in mind that I want to give my clients a unique visual style. I have 16 years of experience in media, PR, commercial and industrial photography besides being trained as a professional at the international Center of Photography (ICP), New York. My Swedish slogan is: ‘Fånga ögonblicket – bevara känslan!’ which literally means ‘Catch the moment — keep the feeling’!
I also offer bundle packages of bespoke quality photos. Image packages Photo-Choice Deluxe and Photo-Choice Basic includes photography of businesses, in-studio or environmental, e.g. portraits of executives and management, members of staff, views of operations, product shots, interiors, corporate events and more. In the Deluxe version, the pictures are 100% royalty free whereas in the basic version, rights are limited.
